Spring Break Camp

K–5th Grade

9 am - 4 pm

No spring break plans? No problem! Your K-5th grade kids will have a blast in our week-long camp. Explore, create, and have some good old-fashioned fun! Campers will spend each day creating memories and friendships, with options for enrichment activities like sewing, cooking, and creative world-building. Days will be packed with songs, games, art, and activities that will keep your kids engaged all day.

Early-Release Camps

12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

PPS has added early-release days to the school calendar, one Wednesday per month, and SCH has you covered! If your child is in the ASE program, early release camps will require a separate registration. Space is limited, so sign up now!

Families that are already registered on Wednesdays can bring their child at 2:30 pm for regular ASE hours.

Wednesday/Friday ASE drop-in

Wednesday/Friday | 2:30 – 6:00 pm | $50/Registration required

Need last minute after school care? We have you covered on Wednesdays and Fridays! Please sign up, then reach out to robin@sellwoodcommunityhouse.org and info@sellwoodcommunityhouse.org, so we know to expect your child. Buses run from Llewelyn and Duniway Elementary Schools. Please contact your school if your child will be riding the bus. Children from any school are welcome.

Afterschool Happy Hour

thursdays | 4:30 – 6:00 pm | $6 drinks/drop-in**

Give your kids those extra 20 minutes of afterschool fun they’re always asking for at pickup and take a moment for yourself! Join us in the lobby for a casual, community-building happy hour. Sip on beer, wine, or kombucha, grab a snack, and enjoy some well-earned adult conversation with fellow SCH parents. It’s a relaxed way to connect while the kids keep playing. We’ll take care of them, cheers to that!

**Happy Hour is open to all adults every Thursday. Child care is only available for kids enrolled in Thursday ASE; no drop-in or free care is offered.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • 2:45-3:15 pm: Arrival and snack

3:15-4:45: Small group enrichment options (kids get to choose!)

    4:45-5:00 Clean up

    5:00-6:00: Recess and pick-up

  • Examples of our enrichment options include arts and crafts, cooking skills, gym games, outdoor explorations, fiber arts, and so much more! We add different enrichment sessions throughout the year to let the kids explore a variety of activities.

  • When registering, please select the program titled “neighboring schools.”

You will be responsible for organizing transportation.

  • We know how hungry kids are after school! That’s why a nutritious daily snack, served with water, milk, and fruit, is included with your registration. A monthly snack calendar is sent out in advance, so families with food sensitivities and allergies can plan ahead if our snack does not meet your child’s dietary needs. Please note that we do not serve nuts, but we do not have a completely nut-free kitchen.

  • All of our after-school staff are first aid, CPR, and AED certified. Staff 18+ are part of the Early Learning Division’s Central Background Registry and participate in fingerprinting and an extensive background check. Staff younger than 18 are also background-checked.

  • We maintain a 1:15 ratio (1 staff member to every 15 kids)

  • We offer space for up to 80 students to be enrolled in our program each day. Students are divided into different classrooms (enrichments) to have a smaller, welcoming environment and explore their own interests with a trusted instructor.

  • Our reading club is a volunteer-led activity that many of our after school kids love! Participation in the reading club is optional. We have a large collection of books for all reading levels, and our reading volunteer coordinator takes trips to the library to add more on a regular basis. All reading volunteers are background-checked.

If you would like to be a reading club volunteer, please contact Leigh at Leigh@sellwoodcommunityhouse.org.

We love when parents, grandparents, and other community members want to come read with our after-school kids!

  • Yes! These programs are open to everyone, whether or not your child is enrolled in our after school program.

  • Early release camp is available for all families, from 12-6 pm. This requires a separate registration. Space is limited!

We will provide regular ASE programming on early release days, from 2:30-6 pm, for families already registered on Wednesdays. Families must provide their own transportation.

  • We calculate the full cost of the program for a full school year, and then divide it into ten equal installments, September through June. Even though June is a shorter month, your tuition payment will remain the same. This allows us to keep our budget and payroll consistent, and it keeps your monthly payments lower throughout the year.
