Littles

Our littles program offers a variety of classes and play opportunities for our youngest community members, from babies to five-year olds (and their grownups!). Our instructor-led classes and drop-in play times provide opportunities for little ones to move, create, explore, and learn.

Open Play

Summer Hours (Starting June 16):

Tuesday and Wednesdays | 9:00 am-12:00 pm

Bring your little ones for drop-in fun, available every Tuesday and Wednesday! Drop-in for messy art, sensory exploration, and open-ended play, or join us for a group or class. Wifi is available for parents who would like to get some work done while their children play. Best suited to kids ages 0-5, though all are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tiny Tumblers, Summer Edition

Roll, jump, and tumble in the great outdoors! Tiny tumblers has moved to Sellwood Park and will continue on all summer! Join us for a flipping good time! For ages 18 months-5 years. Please note, over the summer this class is shifting from a 5-week series to a week-by-week structure. Register for as many weeks as you like!This class will meet by “The Shack” at Sellwood Park, near the pool.

Ballet in the Park*

Twirl beneath the trees in our week-long ballet class for the littlest dancers. Taught by students at the Classical Ballet Academy, your little one will be introduced to the joy of dance and music. At the end of the week, ballet students will perform a recital for family and friends. Each dancer will receive a tutu for participating!

Music and Movement, Summer Edition

Come dance, sing, and groove with Miss Hattie! Music and movement is designed to introduce children ages 0-3 to the joys of music and rhythm in a fun, interactive, and developmentally appropriate way. Parents and Littles Yoga

Circle of Security Parenting

Circle of security is a parent and child program which focuses on developing and supporting secure attachment to build childhood resilience. Sellwood Community House’s PlayLab is partnering with Help Me Grow Oregon to offer this free 8 week program to parents of 18 months to 5 years, looking to build additional tools to support their child’s emotional needs. This closed group will meet for 2 weekly classes; One morning parent class, and one evening play group. No-cost childcare and food will be provided at each class.

Circle of Security: Connected Adoption

8 week course | tuesdays, 6:00-7:30 pm | June 10-july 29  | Free with registration | sellwood Community house

Join us for this 8-week class designed just for adoptive and resource parents of children ages 3–8. Using the Circle of Security model, Katie Statman-Weil, EdD, LCSW from With Connection PDX will help parents strengthen connection, understand behavior through an attachment lens, and strengthen the bond you have with your child. No-cost childcare and food will be provided at each class.

Raising Special Ones + SCH


Esmé is a Sellwood mother of two, including a daughter with a very rare genetic disorder. She is also the founder of Raising Special Ones, an online community for families raising special needs children holistically. With nearly a decade of experience facilitating support circles and working with families as a birthworker and lactation counselor, Esmé is committed to creating spaces for families to find deeper connection with themselves and one another, so their children can thrive.
